Employer Matching Gifts

Many employers offer support to charitable programs that are valued by their employees. You may be a member of a company that matches your donations to registered charities. If so, by notifying us and initiating a matching gift, you have an opportunity to double the value of your gift. Participation in this matching gift program offers a great way for your company to show its philanthropic support for this institution and to be recognized for its commitment.

The best way to find out if your company participates in a matching gift program is to ask your personnel or human resources department. Often, companies will also match gifts from retired employees, spouses, and members of the board.

If your company participates in a matching gift program, please take a moment to obtain a matching gift form from its personnel or human resources office. Simply follow the directions to initiate a match and send the appropriate portion of the form along with your gift to us. We will confirm with your company that we received your gift. That's all there is to it.

If you have already donated this year, you can still notify The University of Winnipeg Foundation your company's Matching Gift policy. Many companies will match your gift if the form is sent in within a reasonable time after the donation.
