Major Gifts
Making a sizeable financial contribution, either as a one-time gift or multi-year pledge, makes a lasting impact on a program or an area of the University that is most important to you. Our Major Gifts Office will be pleased to work with you to develop a plan that is both meaningful to you and beneficial to the University. Donors of major gifts may be acknowledged for their support by means of a recognition plaque or naming opportunity.

By partnering with financial specialists and other allied professionals, a University of Winnipeg Foundation Planned Giving Officer can assist donors in making the most effective use of their charitable giving potential. Most (but not all) planned gifts are deferred gifts, such as bequests, life insurance policies, charitable remainder trusts, gifts of residual interest, etc. Planned gifts may also include outright gifts, including major gifts for current needs, and take the form of securities or real estate and other gifts which may be structured and timed to limit tax on the capital gain.
Gifts in Kind
Donations of gifts-in-kind to The University of Winnipeg Foundation contribute to the education of students and help the University to reduce the cost to purchase ancillary teaching aids and other supplies. Gifts-in-kind may include property, equipment, works of art, books and literary collections, or business inventory as well as a right of any kind, a licence, or a share. The University of Winnipeg Foundation can provide a charitable tax receipt for the assessed value of gifts-in-kind it is able to accept from donors.
